Certification Status (mm/dd/yy)

  • Acceptance Testing: The date a prototype unit has been received by the State and is being evaluated by conducting an extensive set of simulated inspections.
  • Beta Testing: The date when a limited number of production units has been approved for a 20-day field test.
  • Certified: Date granted for unlimited installation

Type of Analyzer

  • "Upgraded BAR-97" is a BAR-97 analyzer that has been upgraded with hardware and software to perform OBD2 testing. This machine also performs safety inspections and idle testing.
  • "Standalone OBD2" is a new machine that performs only safety inspections and OBD2 inspections (no idle testing).
  • BAR-90 units cannot be upgraded to perform OBD2 inspections. They may continue to be used for safety inspections and for idle testing.
