Starting November 1, 2008, the vehicle's inspection and registration renewal dates will be adjusted to be due the same month.

New Vehicle Inspection Dates

The North Carolina Inspection Program will transition from paper stickers being placed on the windshield of vehicles to electronic authorizations (e-stickers). This is an effort to realign vehicle inspection and registration renewal dates. Beginning November 1, 2008 your existing inspection sticker will be removed from the windshield after passing the vehicle inspection. Your next vehicle inspection may be greater than 12 months from your last inspection depending on when your vehicle's registration comes due for renewal. Your next registration renewal notice will let you know when your next inspection is due. You will also find your next inspection due date on your registration card beginning November 1, 2008.

For additional information, contact the NC-DMV hotline at 1-888-333-0557. Or click the No More Stickers Logo below to go to the DMV website.
