North Carolina's Approved Analyzer Software Versions
(Software versions shown are "Production" versions)

Approved analyzer manufacturers, are required to submit software changes for the following reasons:

  1. To correct software errors discovered during field use.
  2. Due to legislative or regulatory changes in the I/M program.
  3. Requested changes by the Division of Motor Vehicles and/or Division of Air Quality to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.

Analyzer manufacturers shall submit all software changes for approval and must obtain written State approval prior to use of the software for Official State Inspections. The version number shall consist of a four (4) digit numeric code to be made up of the current year and a two-digit version number. Example: the software version code for the first version in 2006 would be "0601". Every software update submitted to the State shall cause the software version number to change upward.
